How To Stay Motivated

We find it hard to get the motivation to do things we don’t enjoy, and it’s even harder to stay motivated! This is unfortunate because having a strong motivation can turn our whole life around.

We are all motivated at some point in our lives to do something, but how do we achieve a much more lasting motivation? The key is in changing your habits and mindset. Here are 3 healthy habits that will change your mindset and give you the motivational edge.

P.S. I have started a series on my YouTube channel called ‘Testimonies of Titans’ that YOU can take part in HERE

1. A Healthy Hate

Out of all the emotions, hate is the most powerful motivator to change. Channeling your hate into the right things can motivate you to do almost anything!

But you have to know what to hate, this is where most people struggle.

You need to hate the outcome of not doing something more than you hate doing it.

Here is a practical example:

– Unhealthy hate. You need to do some exercise to improve your fitness. But you hate exercising, so you don’t do it. This increases your weight and causes health problems.

– Healthy hate. You need to do some exercise to improve your fitness. You hate the outcome of not exercising, which is increased weight and health problems. So, you are motivated to exercise.

Hate the outcome!

When you channel your hate in the right direction, over time you will start to love the thing you used to hate. You will start to love exercising because you love what it does TO you.

2. A Healthy Hope

Have an active hope.

What’s the point if you don’t hope something will improve?

Like with hate, you need to know where to focus your hope. Putting your hope in God will never fail.

Psalm 147:11 says:

‘The LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.’

Isaiah 40:31 says: ‘Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’

If your hope is in Jesus, he will give you everything you need and so much more!

Hoping even in our struggles produces perseverance and gives us the motivation to carry on.

3. A Healthy Love

Love the feeling of success when you have to overcome any struggle in your life with God’s help.

Don’t let any success go unrewarded.

It doesn’t matter how great the success. If it’s a success, then reward yourself. Even if you just pat yourself on the back:D

Praise God for what he has helped you achieve and rejoice! Otherwise, you become cold and bitter and never get the satisfaction or the motivation from celebrating what you’ve achieved.

Genesis 49:27 says: ‘In the morning he devours the prey, in the evening he divides the plunder.’

Devour something in the morning. Attack it. Then reward yourself in the evening and divide out the spoils.
