7 Facts About Angels

Angels are awesome! Well… some of them are. There is a lot of mystery and a lack of information about Angels. The Bible doesn’t tell us a lot about the created beings described as Angels.

Even what it does tell us is often confusing and could be interpreted in different ways.

But here are 7 facts about Angels that are actually probably hopefully 99% true facts:

But I must first say!

Apart from the Bible, the most transformational book I have EVER read is ‘The Pursuit of God’.

I do NOT want you to miss it!

It has allowed me to pursue God with more passion than ever before. View it here, if you know you NEED God MORE!

1. We Each Have a GUARDIAN Angel!

We have several guardian Angels in fact.

Psalm 91:11 says:

‘For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways’

This tells us that we each have multiple angels that are guarding and protecting us in EVERYTHING we do. No matter if we are sleeping, working, or enjoying life. God sends us specific angels to protect us.

These SAME angels have probably followed you your whole life!

2. A LOT of Angels Rebelled Against God

As well as giving humans free will, God also gave angels free will.

Satan, (or Lucifer) was probably one of the strongest angels and decided to rebel against God. He wanted to be ABOVE God. He wanted to be stronger than God.

Revelation 12:8-9 says:

‘And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven. This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.’

It also hints at the fact that Satan deceived 1/3 of all the angels when it says in Revelation 12:4:

‘His tail swept away one-third of the stars in the sky.’

Satan sinned against God and we know he dragged a lot of angels down with him.

3. There Was a WAR and There is Still a WAR Between Angels!

Revelation 12: 7-8 says:

‘Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough,’

This describes a fight between Satan and his angels, and God and his angels. Of course, Satan and his angels lost the battle and were thrown out of heaven.

But there is still a war going on in the spiritual realm and WE are a part of it.

Ephesians 6:12 says:

‘For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.’

Our fight is against Satan and his fallen angels. The powers of darkness.

4. Angels Don’t Have Physical Bodies

The Bible doesn’t give much information about what angels look like because they are spiritual beings and don’t have physical bodies.

However, they can sometimes appear to us in a physical form. For example, when an angel appeared to the shepherds.

Luke 2:8-9 says:

‘And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.’

Sometimes they appear with wings, sometimes without wings. There have been many testimonies of people who have seen the physical form of angels with and without wings.

5. Angels Were Created Before The World

Angels had already been created before the world, before people, before space.

Job 38:4-7 says:

‘Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much… as the morning stars sang together, and all the angels shouted for joy?’

Could you imagine being an angel when all this was taking place? Witnessing the Earth being created!

6. There Are Different RANKS of Angels

The Bible talks about different ranks of angels which have varying degrees of power and authority. The highest two likely being the Seraphim and the Cherubim. The Bible also mentions Michael as being the archangel.

Jude 1:9 says:

‘But Michael the archangel…’

Other ranks include thrones, dominions virtues, and powers.

Colossians 1:16 says:

‘whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things have been created through Him and for Him.’

7. Your Guardian Angels REALLY Love You

Although there may be no Bible verses to support this, I can safely say this is true.

Apart from God, your guardian angels know you better and love you more than any other beings. This is proven by the fact that they are ALWAYS protecting you, always fighting for you, even if you can’t see them.

That’s why God made them.
