How To Get More Joy
Imagine if you could get more joy in any situation. If you could have joy even when you’re stressed, tired or lonely. Imagine if every situation you are in would be more joyful and less depressing.
Well you can!
Joy is a purer form of happiness. Receiving something like money or a new phone makes us “happy”.
Our situation has changed to make our lives “better”. But happiness doesn’t last very long, maybe a week at most.
Joy doesn’t rely on our situation changing. If you have lost your job, family and are living homeless, you can still have joy!
But I must first say!
Apart from the Bible, the most transformational book I have EVER read is ‘The Pursuit of God’.
I do NOT want you to miss it!
It has allowed me to pursue God with more passion than ever before. View it here, if you know you NEED God MORE!
1. How To Get More Joy?
Joy is a choice.
In any situation, you can either choose to have joy or be miserable.
So how do we choose joy?
We access joy by being grateful.
You have more to be grateful about than you think.
If you don’t have the money to buy shoes, know that there are people who don’t have legs. If you don’t have legs, know that there are people without arms or legs.
Nick Vujicic is a Christian evangelist born without arms or legs. But when you hear him speak you can tell he’s one of the most joyful people on the planet!
Because he chooses to be!
There is always someone who is worse off than you. But they may have more joy than you because they are thankful for what they do have.
Some people have a successful job, a loving family, and are in perfect health. But still, they have no joy!
Because gratefulness is the root cause of joy.
It is much easier to be grateful if you are surrounded by TRUTH. Faith, gratitude, motivation, energy. They all come from HEARING truth.
Reading the Bible! Reading this blog!
2. God wants us to have JOY!
We are children of God, so of course, God wants us to have joy! What parent doesn’t?
Here’s another reason to have joy:
The struggle you are going through is part of God’s plan. Whilst you wait in your struggles, rejoice! Because it is necessary for you to achieve your destiny.
Romans 5:3 says:
‘We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.’

3. The Benefits Of Joy.
There are many times in our lives when we think we need certain things to be happy. We need a person to be in our lives, or we need a good job, or we need the latest phone. Having joy frees us from that way of thinking.
And it also means you’re more likely to be successful.
If you have joy, even in a struggle, it drives you and motivations you! You are less likely to quit when you enJOY your work. Because you have a hope. A hope for the future.
Because your joy is in the Lord. He will put you in places where you feel most alive!
Because He has a plan for your life!
Jeremiah 29:11 says:
‘”For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”‘
Joy will last because it’s a habit.
Practice being grateful every day and you will master it.
