How To Trust God
How To Trust God
God is the only one we can rely on. He is the only one we can trust. Putting your faith in people will always leave you disappointed.
When a person hits a certain level of stress they can completely change their mood.
Everyone is guilty of this. I am, and so are you.
When a person promises something, a stressful situation can change them.
Stress can cause them to lash out at you even if you’re trying to help them. People have the ability to just forget about you and deal with their own problems.
That’s why God is the only one we can trust. God loves us more than any other human ever could, never breaks His promises, and never forgets about us.
But how do you trust God and His promises about you?
1. Get Faith
One day Jesus was on a boat with his disciples on a stormy sea. The storm was so wild that the disciples thought they were going to drown. They screamed and shouted for Jesus to help them.
But what was Jesus doing…
How bad-ass is that?
When Jesus woke up, he said, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!”
Then he made the storm stop! Just like that…
The disciples were amazed, but they had had no faith in God. They were restless, worried and fearful that they would die in that storm.
Because they didn’t trust God.
So how can we get faith? The kind of faith that allowed Jesus to sleep peacefully in a storm that could have drowned them all.
Faith comes from hearing!
Read my full article on how to get more faith.
But faith comes just from reading, hearing and listening to the good news of Jesus. It comes from watching sermons online, listening to podcasts, and reading books (e.g. the Bible is a good one).
Listen to people list Steven Furtick, or TD Jakes, or whoever strengthens your faith.
The more you feed your soul with truth, the more you believe it and get faith!
2. Read His Promises
The best book you could ever read is the Bible, and it’s full of God’s promises.
One of my favorite verses is in Philippians.
Philippians 1:6 says:
‘being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.’
If you stay connected with God, he will make you succeed in ANY good thing he has called you to do.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a qualification, a business or a job. If God has called you to it, nothing and no-one can call you out of it. You will succeed! It’s a FACT!
God makes over 3000 promises in the Bible. All of these promises are and will be answered with a resounding ‘YES!’
2 Corinthians 1:19-20 says:
‘and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!”’
3. What Does NOT Trusting God Look Like
When you don’t trust God you worry, you’re anxious and you can’t sleep at night. Because you’re imagining a horrible future that hasn’t even happened yet.
But what did Jesus do in the storm, he slept peacefully. Because he had faith in God.
Imagine you’re in a difficult situation you can’t control. You only have one choice to make. Worry and be anxious, or trust and have faith.
But just know that if you choose to trust God you’ll be happier. All the time.
When you hear the truth you are feeding and refreshing your soul. Faith comes from hearing!

God gave us free will to choose whatever we want. At the end of the day, it’s your choice to trust God. No one can make you do it.
